The Regional Health Authority of Central Greece (DYPE) is a National Government Organization responsible for administering all public body health organizations that operate in two large regions of Central Greece, Thessaly and Sterea. These regions include 13 Hospitals (1 of which is a University Hospital) in 10 major cities, 45 Primary Healthcare Centers (urban and rural areas) and more than 350 Small Primary Healthcare Practices. The Health Authority employs more than 9.000 professionals (2.300 in Primary Care and almost 7.000 in secondary and tertiary), providing health services to a population of approximately 2 million people. The Regional Health Authority of Central Greece is one of seven Health Authorities the country is divided in, under the supervision of the Greek Ministry of Health.
